Alice around the corner...

All of the American McGee's Alice inspired posters were revealed today over at OMG Posters. You can see all the stunning pieces by CLICKING HERE.

We will have a limited amount of the posters available on Wednesday and Thursday at the private and public receptions, and then a limited number will be for sale at Alice2Store.com shortly after. These are gonna go fast.

We also are unveiling two beautiful original paintings that will be seen in the show...

Cate Rangel's G1988 debut is stunning...

...and the same goes for Laura Bifano.

It may be the first time these two ladies on the G1988's walls, but trust me, it's not the last.

And lastly, CHECK OUT THE DR. ROMANELLI "Alice" BLAZER by CLICKING HERE.

Please make sure to read the write-up about the blazer. It's so insane.

Remember we have the public reception on Thursday night, and a private E3 party on Wednesday. American will be at both, as will some celeb DJs, but we do have a few spots open for the VIP night as the gallery, so you can email us at gallery1988melrose@gmail.com if you want to attend.

It's gonna be a fun one. Do not miss out.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out to the "Required Reading" opening on Friday night. We had a packed house and a line out the door. People's reactions to the show have been amazing, and we have Rob Jones and Mitch from OMGPosters to thank for that. Their curating and assigning skills were unheralded in my opinion. So, thank you so much guys. And we obviously have to thank the artists as well. Without them, it's just Mitch and Rob emailing people who don't exist. So, thank you guys too.

All the artwork is now online and available, so CLICK HERE. A large amount of the posters have sold out, but we have some incredible prints still left!

A housekeeping note: We did have a handful of oversells this show, as the site actually crashed at one point from high traffic (the third time ever!). At this point, on Sunday at 4:30 PM PT, everyone who had to be refunded, has been so. Barring any major catastrophe, everyone who has not gotten an email and has a transaction number (usually it's a #10000 and 4 more digits) - you are safe. Thank you to everyone with your patience and sorry to those who had to get refunded.

So...you'd think with this chaos and all the paperwork, and oversells, and headaches, and lines outside the gallery, we'd be taking a break next.

um.no.

It's time for the final sneak preview before we open "Required Reading" tonight at Gallery1988 (melrose). This exhibit is curated by OMGPosters and artist Rob Jones. The show runs 7-10 PM and it's going to rule. We're a bit busy, so I'm just going to get to the goods...

Mike Mitchell's ode to the classic tale of The Invisible Man is one of my favorites from the show. This is actually a giclee print and is 8.25 x 19.75. It'll be on display, and available, starting tonight at 7 PM. Be here or hate reading!

Book Reports

Tomorrow night we open "Required Reading" - a limited edition screenprint show featuring almost 40 artists all taking aim at classic novels. Curated by geniuses OMGPosters and Rob Jones, this show is incredible! It's almost a clinic by these artists on how to take a theme and create detailed, awesome posters to sell. Take notice, aspiring artists.

It opens Friday night, 7-10 PM, at the Melrose location - and we'll start a line outside at 5 PM. Until then, here's another preview, "the showstopper" to quote Rob Jones and OMGPosters, from Kevin Tong.

Inspired by Nietzsche's "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," this has to be seen to be believed. Watching how far Kevin has come over the past 2 years has been incredible, and this seems like his opus (so far). I guarantee a mad dash for this one.

SEE YOU TOMORROW, book worms.

Third Up

Another preview from "Required Reading," this time with two prints from artist Florian Bertmer, one inspired by "The Call Of Cthulhu" and another for Milton's "Paradise Lost."

These are incredible! Not sure how, but this show just gets better and better. Major props to OMGPosters and Rob Jones (bringing up Rob just gives me an excuse to post this picture of him at the Grammys).

Remember, Friday night. Show opens at 7 pm, line starts at 5 pm. All at Melrose.

Follow Up Book

And we're off to the races, as we take a look at the INCREDIBLE Moby Dick-inspired art poster made by artist Ken Taylor...

Two colorways will be available for this incredible limited edition print, as I sense the line for the show at our Melrose location, opening this Friday (7-10 PM) getting longer and longer.

First Page

We're approaching the next Gallery1988 (Melrose) with great speed, as "Required Reading" (curated by OMGPosters and artist Rob Jones) opens April 15th. Over 40 artists will create limited edition screenprints celebrating classic novels and we're expecting quite a crowd, as there might be a mad dash for some of the prints we were given only small quantities of. And our first sneak peek into this show is no exception....

Delicious Design League has re-imagined Charles Darwin's "On The Origin Of Species." A controversial title nowadays has made for an incredibly beautiful print, and this is just one of the many show standouts.

Remember, this show will open April 15th at Gallery1988 (Melrose), 7-10 PM. Make sure to stop by!

Venice Vidiots

We are prepping our newest location, Gallery1988 (Venice), and getting closer and closer to our inaugural show, "Multiplayer," opening January 15th.Just to remind you, it will feature 30 artists, all creating limited edition screenprints inspired by classic video games. The show is curated by our friends at OMGPosters, and the work is incredible. Today we give you the 1st preview of work from the show: Todd Slater's "The Overworld," inspired by The Legend of Zelda.

This beautiful print is actually one of a set (that can be purchased separately though) and the other one is just as awesome.

I think this is the perfect show to introduce you to G1988 (Venice) and what we have coming to our new venue in 2011.

See you there?
