BILLLLLLLLLLLLL! Part 2

We open "Please Post Bills" tomorrow night with an opening reception from 7-10 PM at G1988 (Melrose). We are so excited to debut this tribute to a comedic genius and the sneak peeks seem to be all over the Internet right now, so we figured we'd get in on the action. AND check out this week's Entertainment Weekly for a little blurb, and image, from the show as well!

CULT APPROACHING!!

It's our 1000th post on the blog! YAYYYYY!

And no better thing to talk about during such a monumental post than CRAZY 4 CULT! The opening of the show's 5th installment is just around the corner on July 8th, and we're starting to see a lot of the pieces and we are blown away. Next week we'll start really previewing the work here on the blog, including introducing you to a new artist to the G1988 family that we're so ecstatic to debut at CFC.

But until then, here is some media to get you in the mood for the show...which does include the first look at a CFC piece on the blog!

First up...I was interviewed by Aint It Cool News, which was pretty awesome. You can click the photo for the interview...

Then filmmaker Mat de Koning has been making a documentary for over 6 years! And during those 6 years one stop he made was at Crazy 4 Cult 2009 to follow artist Jodee Knowles. He documented the night and decided to put together an awesome video showing his experience and the night's insanity. It's pretty awesome and gives some first timers what to expect from CFC. THANKS MAT!

And lastly, but not leasty, we have Danielle Buerli who made an amazing little short that chronicles the process of creating her piece for Crazy 4 Cult 5. It's a sculpture and it's brilliant. Just not sure why Danielle is wearing that human suit.

There's more where this came from.

FUNNY!

Thanks to our friends at FunnyOrDie for highlighting 4 pieces from the upcoming "Camp Firewood" Wet Hot American Summer tribute show at Gallery1988 (Venice). We have heard from so many die-hard fans of the movie, and some of the stars (!!!), so we're just as excited.

The Zone

We're getting ready for tomorrow night's opening reception for "Another Dimension" here at G1988:LA and it's shaping up to be quite the experience for anyone who considers themselves a Twilight Zone fan. And for those who are regulars to G1988, you're going to see more new names than ever before, which is rather exciting. Here's a sneak preview before the reception tomorrow, Thursday night, from 7-10 PM - which you should for sure attend. I think I'll get you a sneak peek at some prints later today too!

Johnny Sampson takes a turn at "The Dummy," one of my favorite episodes, which also forced me to be afraid of ventriloquist dummies from that point on.

G1988 newcomer Joe Scarano summons "To Serve Man," which is by far the most depicted episode in the show, and obviously left quite a dent in pop culture and the imaginations of everyone.

A G1988 favorite Danielle Buerli sculpts the man himself, the brains behind the mystery, Rod Serling. This one-of-a-kind piece is incredible.

Carl Lozada has a piece in the show that also gives his take on the classic "To Serve Man." One of the more humorous takes...

A G1988:SF regular, but a first timer to our LA location Lawrence Yang did three amazing pieces for this show. Featured above is his take on "Time Enough At Last," maybe my favorite piece in the show.

Don't miss this show! You're going to love it....that's a promise in this reality.
