IN JUST A FEW...

We'll open up G1988 (Venice) for the first time ever! "Multiplayer," featuring 30 artists creating limited edition screenprints all inspired by classic video games. We already have a few people waiting outside the new space and it's only 5 PM! Here are two more peeks for you guys of some posters from the show, curated by our friends at OMGPosters.

Daniel Danger's take on "Silent Hill" is, in my opinion, one of his best. A lot of people always assume when we release a screenprint it sells out in just a few seconds. This print will not help that assumption.

Adam Hanson shows at Gallery1988 for the first time ever, this time depicting the cute LIL KITTIES, and homage to Final Fantasy III. I just want to stare and giggle at this all day. And I will.

Hopefully see you tonight!!! A brand new space for us. It's pretty crazy, as we've watched galleries move several times since their inception, we're steadfast in Melrose (approaching 7 years now) - had a few years in San Francisco, and are now ready to plant our flag over here. Come celebrate with us!

She's A Lady

With our new Whalen Dragon's Lair print and Perillo Dig Dug print now available, we wanted to tell you about a new video game themed giclee print from Misha, that we just got in the gallery.

You might remember Misha's last video game themed print sold it's way through 2 editions, found itself in People Magazine and has a little famous baby staring at it everyday. Well, this new print "Our Lady Of The Arcade," is just as awesome. Depicting Ms. Pac Man as the holy being she is, this print is 8.5 x 11 inches, signed and numbered in an edition of 50 and is only $50.

Pick it up before the ghosts get you. You can email us at gallery1988@aol.com or call us at (323) 937 - 7088 to order. We only have a few.

Sausage King Of Chicago

My first day off on the blog and all I keep thinking about is our upcoming "I AM 8-BIT" show. Artists keep sending us pics and it seriously just keeps getting better. We usually get a lot of press attention for this show, so it seems like the participants really step it up when creating pieces based on 1980's video games. Not to mention this year the line-up is redonkulous. I mean what's Amy Sol or Ekundayo gonna paint from vintage video games? Will Greg Simkins and Luke Chueh continue their streak and deliver some of the exhibit's best? 8-Bit virgins Anthony Ausgang, Jon Burgerman, SEEN, Jesse LeDoux, Travis Lampe and Mike Leavitt all seem like they could contribute some real winners. And Paul Wall?

Here's the full line-up (although be ready for some late additions) - and you tell me who you're excited about:
