Sweet Surrender Opening

Last night was a blast! We had a great turnout at the opening for Sweet Surrender. Camilla, Allison, Jennifer, and Krista were able to make it to the event. Unfortunately, we missed Mia, but everyone loved her work in the show. I just uploaded better images of Mia's paintings with her the beautiful frames she chose, you can see them here on the preview blog...

Here are some pics from the opening last night...

The show runs through March 28th, so if you weren't able to see the show last night please stop by over the next few weeks. The work in this show is stunning, so you should definitley see it in person if you can!

Sweet Surrender

I am SO EXCITED to announce our next SF show, it's going to be HUGE!!!

I couldn't be happier with this show lineup! Both Camilla and Krista sent over some preview pics this morning, so this is perfect timing to share them with all of you...

Krista Huot

This is one of Krista's new drawings that she's done on colored pastel paper. Along with the paper pieces, she will also be delivering some acrylic on birch paintings.

Camilla d'Errico

Keep in mind that this photo was taken with Camilla's iPhone and it still looks incredible! She's delivering 10 pieces, some in color and a few black and whites. AND Camilla will be at the show!

The show opens on March 6th at Gallery1988 San Francisco. I will post some preview pics from Mia, Allison Torneros and Jen Tong when we have them available.

March Mattness

It's the first day of the March Madness NCAA basketball tournament, a morning I used to ditch school to watch all the first round match-ups, rooting for schools I couldn't point out on a map if my life depended on it (I still don't know where Gonzaga is). But this year I can't wonder aloud where Belmont is, or even contemplate where the hell Winthrop is, cause I'm here at the gallery overwhelmed with TOYS! artwork delivery, and putting the final touches on our gallerys' 2009 schedules. I guess the good news is I'll only get small doses of Dick Vitale.

We've been focusing so much on the customized Hot Wheels vans, I want to make sure you know how seriously amazing the paintings portion of the TOYS! show is going to end up. So to prove this point I present exhibits A and B.

Exhibit A: Matt Dangler's entry

Exhibit B: Camilla d'Errico's entry

Your honor, the show opens April 1, 2008 with an opening reception from 7-10 PM. I rest my case.

I Like Abba Zabbas

We're in the midst of installing Hi-Fructose's "Bitters and Sweets" group show here at the LA Gallery and I'm not kidding when I say this show is beautiful. There are some real stunners in the show, but what do you expect from a line-up that includes Ron English, Glenn Barr, Naoto Hattori, Alex Pardee, KMNDZ and David Stoupakis - as well as introduces new stars like Yoko d'Hollbachie, Jennybird and Peap? And that's only 9 of the well over 40 artists participating. Hi-Frutose braintrust Annie Owens and Attaboy are not only contributing artwork, but also putting together a gallery installation that is a massive undertaking in itself. All in the name of candy and all things pink!

Here's a few EXCLUSIVE sneak peeks that might just have your sweet tooth tingling...

This is just a taste, so I'm telling ya, this show is a home run! With or without Joe Torre in LA.
